An insurance executive with over 25 years of experience in the industry, John Keogh was named Chief Operating Officer of ACE Limited in July 2011. In this role, he has responsibility for the company’s property and casualty (P&C) and accident and health (A&H) insurance operations globally, including the company’s two principal business segments: Insurance – North American and Insurance – Overseas General. The Insurance – North American segment comprises ACE’s retail and wholesale P&C and A&H business in the U.S., Bermuda and Canada, while the Insurance – Overseas General segment encompasses ACE’s retail and wholesale P&C and A&H insurance operations in 50 countries and territories outside North America. Mr. Keogh also serves as Chairman of ACE Overseas General, a position he has held since joining the company in 2006. He was appointed Vice Chairman, ACE Limited, in August 2010.

Prior to joining ACE, Mr. Keogh held a range of positions with increasing responsibility during a 20-year career with American International Group (AIG), including Senior Vice President, Domestic General Insurance, and President and Chief Executive Officer of National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh (an AIG member company) from 2000 to 2006; Executive Vice President, AIG Domestic Brokerage Group, Head of Field Operations, from 1998 to 2000; and President and Chief Operating Officer, Lexington Insurance Company, from 1997 to 1998. He began his insurance career as an underwriter with AIG in New York in 1986.

Mr. Keogh serves on the board of trustees of the Eisenhower Fellowships, the board of overseers for The School of Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science of St. John’s University, and the board of directors of BritishAmerican Business, the New York Police and Fire Widows' and Children's Benefit Fund, and the Brown University Sports Foundation.
